ABOUT ME

Hello everyone!

My name is Lisa Soto-Colon, but I go by Mrs. Soto in the classroom. I attended Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii, majoring in Elementary Education and also attended Fayetteville Technical Community College in North Carolina where I studied Early Childhood Education, also obtained the Childhood Development Associate Credential(CDA). I also have owned and operated an in-home childcare business for five years. Throughout my lifetime, I have been blessed to gain and obtain so much knowledge and experience within the educational field 20 plus years working as a preschool teacher, teacher assistant, reading tutor, as well as a substitute teacher with children in grades k-12th. Education has always been a top priority for me and it will continue to be so. In order to succeed in life, it starts with education.

Some hobbies of mine (other than teaching) include cross-stitching, cooking, traveling, watching and attending sporting events (we love all the Texas teams), and of course, spending time with my family. My husband and I have been married for 35 years and his name is Harry. I have a son named Raquiem who graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering! I also have a daughter named Llasmin who graduated from Iowa University with a degree in Dietetics. Finally, I have three wonderful grandsons named Xavier, Braxton, and Zayden. My husband is a retired U.S. Army veteran so we have traveled and lived in many places such as Germany (where my son was born), Korea (where my daughter was born), Spain, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and more! We moved to Indiana about 12 years ago from Colorado and since I have worked in a few schools in the area.

It will be a pleasure teaching each of your children and helping them to blossom into the bright, young minds that I know they are!
